System Requirements: LOCAL DISCOVERY

You will have the best experience with LOCAL DISCOVERY on a PC that meets the Recommended System specifications shown as follows. LOCAL DISCOVERY will run on a PC that meets only the Minimum Requirements; however, performance will not be as fast.

Minimum System Configuration

  • OS: Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit or Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit

    • Installing LOCAL DISCOVERY into a Parallels environment is not supported.

    • Installing LOCAL DISCOVERY into an Apple BootCamp environment has not been fully tested and has limited support. Users may be required to test installation on a PC running Windows 10.

    • LOCAL DISCOVERY(and the Network Data Store NDS) is not supported on cloud solutions such as DropBox, OneDrive, Box and ExpanDrive.

  • CPU: Dual-Core Processor

Note: Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors are not supported.

  • System RAM: 8 GB

  • Disk space: 256 GB

    • Disk space is determined based on the amount of data stored

    • Single-user systems may use local disk storage

    • Systems on which Administration and Native Ingestion may be run have additional space requirements

    • Network systems can store data on Direct Storage, NAS, or SAN

    • For the best experience, ensure thatLOCAL DISCOVERYis deployed to a dedicated, low-latency network with enough resources to accommodate collaboration and Data Sync. When deployed to a NAS, performance may be impacted.

  • Graphics card: 128 MB dedicated memory

Note: Mobile graphics chips and other small GPU hardware do not meet compatibility requirements for TRIAL DIRECTOR. A standalone, dedicated graphics card is required for reliable Presentation performance.

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or higher

  • Network: 100 MB Ethernet connection or higher
  • Internet Connectivity – Workstations must connect to the web at least once every 30 days to authenticate licenses.
  • Multimedia – In Windows Features, Windows Media Player must be enabled or all multimedia will fail to playback in TRIAL DIRECTOR and Case Story. In some installations of Windows, the Windows Media Player is not enabled by default.

For TRIAL DIRECTOR - The minimum hardware requirements are suitable for trial preparation purposes. The recommended hardware requirements are strongly suggested for courtroom presentation.

Supported Microsoft Office Versions

You cannot complete the installation process if you have a 32-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010 or prior on the machine where you are installing the application. Uninstall Microsoft Office 32-bit and, if needed, install Microsoft Office 64-bit instead. Below is a table that provides more detail on supported versions of Office.

IMPORTANT: The use of virtual machines for system and data repositories is not recommended for LOCAL DISCOVERY. Additionally, you cannot install IPRO on an Oracle VM VirtualBox. For more information, see Virtual Machine Compatibility.

Streaming Module Requirements

When using the Streaming module, we recommend:

  • RAID1 storage for performance and readability.
  • Gigabit Ethernet connection or higher
  • IBM Notes 8.5.3 or 9.0.1 FP2 (FP3 and later fix packs are not supported)

Citrix Environments

Information related to tested Citrix configurations, as well as helpful links containing deployment instructions, can be found here: Citrix Versions and Hardware Specs.

Important Notes About Citrix

  • As there is an unlimited number of possible execution environments, IPRO confines its testing to common scenarios. IPRO cannot guarantee all features will function as normal with every Citrix configuration. Testing the software in your configured environment is advised.
  • It is highly recommended that users presenting at trial also install LOCAL DISCOVERY directly onto their local machine. Citrix deployments allow for seamless integration between LOCAL DISCOVERY components, however, a local install provides the greatest performance when playing or presenting media in TRIAL DIRECTOR.
