Case Overview Toolbar

The CaseOverview toolbar lets you access tools for creating a new case, and saving, editing, managing, and exporting cases. You can also view the name of the case you are working on and open a different case. By default, the Case Overview toolbar is a part of the Case Overview workspace.

New Case

Lets you create a new case—see Creating New Cases.

Save Case

Lets you save the current case.

Edit Case

Lets you edit the current case—see Editing Cases .

Case Management

Opens the Case Management dashboard where you can:

  • View and manage cases
  • Manage custodians on legal hold
  • Export cases to a spreadsheet

Export Case

Lets you export a list of cases to a spreadsheet for managing the progress of searches—see Exporting.

Case Report

Lets you create a report of your case and download it as an Excel document.

Working on Case

Displays the name of the current case and lets you open a different one on your list. A red exclamation mark next to a case indicates a error or warning for various reason including:

  • - The case is locked because another user is working on it.
  • - The scope of the case has changed.
  • - There was a problem with the case the last time legal hold was updated.

The red exclamation mark is also present in the list of cases on the A Case Management dashboard.
