After a delivery is created, the media associated with the delivery must be defined and added to the delivery to which it belongs. Media that are received or ready to ship can be defined separately from deliveries (and added to a delivery as it is defined), or they may be defined as you are defining a delivery.
Any type of electronic medium can be managed in Media Manager (hard drive, DVD, network share, etc.), and media contents can include any type of individual files and/or container files, such as archive files (for example, .ZIP files) or forensic image files (for example, .E01 files) in any directory structure.
In addition to defining basic media details, image and other files can be attached to a medium definition to help you identify and/or track the medium. For example:
Images: If a container arrives with several different media included, you might take a picture of the original container so that it can be associated with each medium.
Attachments: A shipping manifest might be included.
Acceptable file types include:
Images: .GIF, .JPG, and/or .PNG – no file size limit exists.
Attachments: .CSV, .DOC/.DOCX, .GIF, .JPG, .PDF, .PNG, .PPT/.PPTX, .TIF, .TXT, .XLS/.XLSX, .ZIP – file size cannot exceed 4 MB.
Files attached to media are copied to a location defined in Enterprise System Administration. Make sure this location is defined before you attach files. Check with your administrator and/or check Define Media Attachment File Path for details.
