Create a New Custodian

This topic provides instructions on how to create a new custodian. After a case (project) is created, the next step is to create the custodian. There can be as many custodians as necessary for each case (project). Follow the steps below to complete this task.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • Select the case (project) and click the Custodians tab in the Status and Summary Panel. Click  to display the New Custodian dialog. Proceed to step 2.
    • Select the case (project) in the Client Management treeview, then right-click to display the context menu, and choose New Custodian. The New Custodian dialog appears. Proceed to step 2.
  2. In the New Custodian dialog, enter a custodian name. A maximum of 50 characters are permitted.

  3. Enter a custodian description.

  4. Select a task table from the drop-down list. The task table that appears in the field is based on the last task table selected for the Case (Project).

  5. Click OK. eCapture automatically creates three folders: Data Extract Jobs, Discovery Jobs, and Processing Jobs underneath the custodian in the Client Management treeview.

  6. Click Discovery Jobs. Once the discovery job is running, the Data Panel displays information about the job.

Note: eCapture Custodians may be created through IPRO (Cloud) Self-Service when uploading data to be processed. The Custodian and its associated Project appear in the eCapture Controller Client Management treeview. Visit the IPRO Online Help for additional details.
