Import Designation Types

In Case Manager, you can open a case and import designation type information on the Designations tab.

To import designation information:

  1. Open Case Manager.

  2. Double-click a case to open it.

  3. Select the Designations tab and click the Import Designations Type button

    The File Explorer appears.

  4. Navigate to the designation import type file.

  5. Find the file location on your computer. An example of a comma-delimited import file is shown as follows:

    The first entry on a line is the designation name, the second entry on the line is the designation color, and the third entry on the line is the option party name. Notice in the example above, the first half of the designations have a party defined. The last half do not. Click here to view sample text file for designation type import.

    Click Closedhere to view sample text for Designation Types. If you want to create your own designation type file, copy the sample text and paste it into a text editor and edit as necessary. Save the file and then import it into TRIAL DIRECTOR using these instructions.

    Note: If you add the designation list using the format above, the import will add parties at the same time that it adds the designations.

  6. Select the file.

  7. Click Open.

  8. The designations are added to the case and appear in the Designations table.
